Default Water Pump Replacement

I have a 91 Ranger, 3.0L, 2wd auto, no ac. I am going to replace the water pump and the fan. The nylon fan is cracked and the water pump started weeping, no noise yet. How do I get the fan off? What size are those four bolts on the back of the fan? Do they have to be removed to get the shroud out?Any problems before I start to tear it down. It is my only vehicle and I will have two days next week to do this.

Default Re: Water Pump Replacement

Fan tool will get it off. There's a big opened end that holds the 4 w/p pulley bolts in place to keep it from spinning, and another wrench for actually removing the fan clutch. Basically just need a big enough wrench and a means of keeping the pulley from spinning while you're loosening.
