Default DTC P0301 cylinder 1 misfire

2002 3.0L Vulcan xlt
So I was going to get on the freeway and I had to punch it to get in front of this semi and my pickup starts stalling and lurching so I thought "eh water in the gas" and got some water remover and drove nice and easy till that tank was gone then it kept happening for a couple hundred miles then it stopped. then it started again, it felt like the person behind me was tapping my bumper with they're bumper every time I take off from a stop light or sign, now its stalling and lurching worse and at idle, and it's doing it real bad around 45 and 50. I pulled over and revved it up with the a/c on trying to put a load on the motor and I got my check engine light to come on. So now that I had an idea where to start I high tailed it back to the house and threw it on the code reader. P0301 is what I got. I looked it up and it said cylinder 1 misfire. So I pulled the plug on cylinder 1, it looked good, so I pulled cylinder 2's plug and switched it out with cylinder 1's plug to see if it was that plug. I cleared the code started it up and spun a brodie in the gravel road and light comes on. I read the code , same thing P0301 cylinder 1 misfire. So I got out my wire tester tested the plug wire, it had continuity and it had the same resistance as cylinder 2 plug wire checked the fuel pressure 65psi, that's normal for an 02 vulcan.

can I test the coil with my multimeter/wiretester and how?
If so what should it say?
Had any one had this on 150,000 miles? What was your fix?
Please help me?

That's a little beyond me. Can you elaborate a little bit?

The camshaft synchronizers sometimes go bad on the 3.0 Vulcan. Usually around 80000 miles. Easy to replace. It also turns the oil pump, so you might want to replace it anyway. Youtube, google, this forum, lots of info.
