Check engine light "p0174 system too lean bank 2"
I have a 2001 Ranger, 3.0 V6 with 112K on the chassis and about 99K on differnt motor. I just bought the truck yesterday and it ran just fine, no warning signs. THEN I get in this morning and start driving and the Check Engine light came on. The car does NOT run any differnt. I checked the code at Schucks and it says "p0174 system too lean bank 2" Help please! Im worried I got ripped off. I bet the people disconnected the battery before I test drove it so that the light was not on! Thank you for you rtime!

might be a o2 sensor. i dont remember the code mine popped when it needed a 02 sensor.

No big deal. Probably a vacuum leak or the crankcase breather connected to the intake tube is disconnected.

yea could be vacuum leak from intake gasket too

Yep, had that happen to me last week. It was a little hose that popped off the intake. Caused air to be sucked in causing the cylinders on one side to run lean. Mechanic found it, reattached and did not charge me a penny.
