It is not the EGR valve. It is the pressure differential sensor. The silicone hoses feeding it could be clogged. Last but not least a bad head. Hence miss fire codes.

I had a 2000 with the 3.0 that had EGR codes and #6 missfires and it was the DPFE sensor causing the issue. Just a side note, if you replace the DPFE, be prepared to replace the rubber hoses from it to the manifold. Mine were brittle and came apart when i removed the DPFE from the front of the intake.

IT WAS the DPFE Valve! Picked 1 up @ Advance for $30.00. CEL was ON before replacing it, installed it, started the Ranger to reset the codes, & the dam CEL went OFF!

I LOVE this forum! EVERYONE here are GODS! I am not worthy!

SORRY to hack Lovell's thread too by the way!!!

Also replaced the IAC Valve. HAD a idle hunting issue for a while. Figured I'd go ahead & spend the extra $80.00 whil I was there! Idling NOW where it SHOULD be........ At 1100 RPM!!!

Where is the Pressure Differential Sensor located? Is it known by another name?
