You know, I've got a Vulcan 3.0 as well.. and the odd thing I found is that my speedometer said I was going 85, and I passed a Nissan with a digital speedometer that said 109.. It felt like it really was going 85, but after passing some more cars that were going in the 90s and 100s, I determined that my speedometer was wrong. If that's the case you might have a bad sensor.

Other than that... maybe you have a really abnormally low limiter set on ur car. That would suck.

I would say if u don't want any problems with it at all, get a new sensor and do some ECU work! (:

Might sound a bit "Ranger-racist" but I only REALLY like 93-97's.

Same thing happens to my truck. I have a 2004 2wd Edge. It
tops out at 93 but the speedometer goes to 120. I feel like I'm missing out on 27mph.

Every time I read one of these threads, it furthers my mindset that my child's first vehicle will have the speed limiter programmed for 68 and the RPM limited to 2800.
Well just fyi people who speed up when you try to pass them is why you need to go beyond 90 because they are in a car and have better acceleration.. so its non of the above reasons you just said.

X2 after all its a truck and small one at that.

If the car speeds up then why do you need to pass them? sounds more like a road rage situation rather than an acceleration issue?

This makes no sense. As I said, you obviously don't need to pass them and it's not passing, its reckless driving and racing. Try again. I think you misunderstand the word "need".

Yeah I only went as fast as I did because, I got 110 on my b230F volvo 240.
I'm not a infant so I don't speed like a maniac any more, its too risky in something so top heavy, esp here with all the deer

my 96' 3.0 can get to 100 when the speedlimter kicks in and just keeps it there but if it didn't have the speedlimter i could get it to 120 or 130
