If I'm off a tooth when I changed the sync. Would that make it like skip at around 2500-3000 rpms?

It could. The synch and sensor act just like a distributor, so if you're off a tooth, it'll throw the timing out.

I'm just amazed that you didn't fry the engine due to lack of oil pressure.

Yea me as well I didnt go far at all 100 feet or so
