Exclamation Spark plugs and wire sets?

What kind of spark plugs and spark plug wire sets are safe to use in a 2003 ranger 3.0L Manual transmission?

^^^^ What he said. Either that or Autolites which are essentially the same thing. Don't bother with fancy plugs and wires that are advertised or sold in stores. Trust me, our motors don't like them.

The autolites are a little cheaper than the actual motorcraft

Sweet thanks guys. I wasn't sure if MSD wire sets were safe and other spark plugs like Bosch platinum +4's, NGK, etc.

Believe it or not, your truck may not even start with those things.

+++++++ on the above recomendations. I learned the hard way. My truck ate a set of bosch DP's in less than 8k miles. I use autolite plugs and wires on my 99 because they are a lot cheaper. they work great.

I used Autolite platinums and Omnispark wires (from O'Reilly) on my 03. Runs great.

Platinum plugs and 8mm wire set, they might cost a little more than OEM but they will pay for themselves in the long run. You can get 60,000 miles on the plugs !

on this forum in a different thread about a month ago a guy was calling Autolite plugs "garbage". I questioned him why he thought that but he never responded. he was the first person I have seen trash the autolites!!

Iam not sure what the +4's are but I know mt engine ate holes in the tips of Bosch dp's. I wouldgo go with the autolites or Motorcrafts
