Default Cam Synchro question.

I just recently replaced my Synchro and used the RPT brand from Richporter.com I was told that they are fairly good parts and when I saw it I wasn't able to tell the difference between the motorcraft and the RPT part. Has anyone heard of them? Or have had any bad reviews?

I've never heard of them but I only use motorcrap parts for ford. It doesn't help that I get them wholesale though.

I've been searching for reviews on them all day. I've read the failure rate is about the same as motorcraft and they are 100% new plus they come with the cap sensor and tool. I'll just take it out once a year to check on it.

that is one of the few parts that everyone says to replace ONLY with a motorcraft. especially since that part can kill your motor if it breaks.

At this point we are looking into getting another vehicle so I'm not seriously worried about it. If we plan on keeping the truck I'll probably change it out for a motorcraft but for now it should be fine as they have very good reviews.

I'm thinking of ending up with something like this.

I'd get motorcraft because if it stops working it stops turning your oil pump and then boom blown engine, I needed to replace mine and the guys at the auto parts store highly recommended it

Yea all the guys at my parts store said Motorcraft or RPT. I've looked at both and they area identical. Also the RPT comes with a lifetime warranty, the Motorcraft only has a 1 year. I'll take my chances.

He said to stay away from Dorman and Cardone

I'm still wondering about that bogus lifetime warranty. If the part fails, your engine siezes
! Bet it doesn't cover that !

I wouldnt put anything but Motorcraft/Ford Parts in. The cheap chinese junk is taking one big leap of faith the guy building it was having a good day.
