Default 2000 3.0 with a 2006 intake. running lean. need help.

I recently cut the exhaust off the the cats and put on a glass pack. I also installed a 2006 taurus intake manifold and throttle body. Now I'm getting a misfire code and both banks too lean. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Surprise!!! Undo the blatantly obvious mistakes that you did to the vehicle that caused the problem you are objecting to. Simple and done.

Your truck needs the cats to read properly, also, what in the world possessed you to install an 06 intake?

I bet it's something to do with that pesky little egr valve that's not in the right place. Why do people think that removing the cats actually does anything?

The same reason people think plug and play HID's are a good idea, or that they can out brake the ABS system...

Remove your doors, increases structural integrity and while your at it, add some flame stickers, I heard they add 10hp per sticker

Or people who go a fishing expedition looking for the answer "they want to hear" rather than deal with and accept the truth. Remember children, just because you read it on the internet doesn't mean it's correct.

Correction. I cut the exhaust off behind the cats. They are still there. I need a little more power to tow a boat with. And for those nay sayers. It made a HUGE difference. And it was way Cheaper than a programmer.

Did you put the egr valve back on when you changed intakes?

As stated, 2000 rangers had EGR. 2006 did not. So if the intake wasn't off of a Taurus 3.0 from 2006 which still had EGR, then that's just screwed. Not sure why you aren't getting an EGR code, but for one that is indeed a problem.

And the only difference you're going to get by cutting the exhaust is sound, which will vibrate your gentleman's sausage a bit and make you feel all fuzzy inside, making you think it's pulling harder.
