ranger engine swap harness compatability

Hey guys
i am replacing the engine in my 2001 3.0.
I have a 3.0 out of a 2000, before i purchased it from the wrecker i went to ford and asked if it would work (plug n play) they looked it up in their system and said "yep! 98-01 are the same. In 02 they removed the egr system."
So i got it and strted pulling the old engine and everythig is the same.... except the injectors.

So my idea for the solution is to get a complete harness from a 2000 as well. Seems like the simplest solution to me cause the injectors look to be quite different. And yes they are both gas no flex fuel.
so will the harness from a 2000 plug in and work at he main connection in my 01?

I think it would be easier to just swap injectors... Not the whole harness

Well that was the original plan but looking at pictures of each type the end where they seat actually look fairly different. I was going to swap the injectors and fuel rail over. If that would work could someone chime in?

I'm pretty sure it'll work if the motor was a 02+ that might be a different story...

Are you sure 01+ arent all the same?

OK yes 01+ do have different injectors than 2000 and older... They should be a direct swap....

Ok i gues we will ha e to pull one of each injector and compare. If they didnt swap would changing the harness work?

The injectors are different they look different.. Only way to know is swap them put the 2000 injectors in if the fit and the fuel rail will go on and bolt on they'll work.. If the don't I would swap intakes before I changed the harness
