I used to get about 22 but it has dropped off in the past year to about 15 or 16. In addition power at highway speeds is poor at best, non existant on hills......

I sold my 2001 Ranger last week. I was getting 16 around town and 19-20 on the highway. 3.0 with automatic. It just wasn't my thing. Had no power to pull my trailer with golf cart. Always kicking out of overdrive when pulling the trailer and that takes a toll on mileage. Bought a full size pickup and it gets lousy gas mileage but doesn't know the trailer is even there. Guess you get some good and some bad whatever way you go. Now with gas nearing $4 a gallon and this president wanting "energy to necessarily skyrocket" I wish I had a 30 mpg truck, but I do have the VW Passat and it never gets less than 30 on the highway and mostly in the 33 mph range. Since I am out of the Ranger business, this is my last post. Good luck to all you Ranger fans and may you always have a tail wind to push up your gas mileage.

I've been getting 19-21 with my '95 Ranger 3.0 2WD 3.45 gears auto trans.

I'm gonna try to even go a little lighter on the gas pedal this week and see if I can get into 22-23. If I did all highway, I'm sure it'd be possible.

17 in city/ 19 hwy
I have 31's with 3:73 gears
And an auto tranny and I do tend to
Gun it every once in a while
