Alight I give...can't find a vac leak, the fuel filter helped but it still ain't perfect. Now she gets to sit in time out until she acts right...or I can have her checked out by the doctor and fixed. Got a random misfire code...my answer to that was no shit, a lot of help that was. Oh well now i get to drive this. 2000 Tundra 2wd with 380,000 miles on it. I know a lot of you don't like em but any truck with a gas engine that can take the abuse this one has and keep on going with just regular maintenance is a good one no matter how it looks(I honestly think it looks just like an F150).

Wonders if you ever fixed your leak problem? I had similar issues...then noticed my air filter was soaked with oil because my pcv valve was loose causing the pcv system to vent in the reverse direction.

No I haven't, just keep adding oil whenever needed. I'm 99% sure its the rear main seal the only oil anywhere is exactly where it would be from this leaking, nothing in the engine compartment or on the air filter. I've also got it to where it only misfires when its cold and its not nearly as bad as it was so I can drive it now. Whenever I have the time I'm going to take care of the rear main seal, and hopefully while I'm at it I can swap in a manual.

Before you change the rear main seal make sure it is not the oil pan gasket leak or the valve cover leak. Some of these are hard to trace. It is not always the rear main leaking.

There hasn't been any oil around the valve covers since I cleaned up what little I spilled last time I changed it so those should be good. And the oil pan gasket should be good, no signs of any leaks around there. The only place I'm seeing oil is on the plate between the engine and tranny (forget the technical name for big thin piece of metal, where is goes and what is does is the important part right?)

I topped off the oil and added some Bar's Seal lube to it yesterday, so hopefully this will help. Still misfiring occasionally, got some Sea Foam to try though so hopefully I can get that tamed down a little more as well.
