Default Motorcraft Heater Hoses

I just remembered I haven't replaced the heater hoses on Ol'Blackie so I thought I would get them ordered and replaced before Winter.First off has anyone recently replaced their hoses with Motorcraft hoses, secondly what is the correct part number and are they like the hoses in the old days, just 2 hoses supply and return? From what I could tell they take part # KH318, but I couldn't tell from any of the descriptions if that included 2 hoses and if that was all that was required, to replace all the heater hoses.TIA Bob C.

Hi Bob. With the 'puter problems I've been having, I totally missed your thread.
Here's what I came up with at AutoZone, http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...mString=search
Not really very informative, and not Motorcraft though, and looks like just bulk hose cut to fit.
If you're on pretty good terms with your local Ford dealer, take a ride down there and see what they have. Sometimes I've been much better off, quality and price wise, to just do that. My biggest problem doing that is that I usually spend more time BSing with the guys there, than getting anything done.

John I think I found the right part number, but just want to make sure it includes the 2 hoses needed and if I need any plastic fittings and clamps and what ever else I might need before replacing them. I feel they are just a vital as any part, that can disable you on the side of the road and surely out of a 100,000 members that someone has replaced them on a 3.0.Thanks John for your reply.

I just went to Pep Boys and bought the cut to size hoses. That was awhile ago, still good, no leaks at all.

Appreciate the bump Sean! I'm sticking with Motorcraft on anything under the hood as much as I can, mainly all the stuff that can have you stuck on the side of the Interstate or road.Plus as expensive as labor costs and parts are, hopefully I will only have to do it once.Age of myself, has a lot of influence on my decisions now, when I was young, the cheaper the better.Lol!

I wish I knew. The mechanic who replaced my heatercore did it. I bought a Motorcraft heatercore but didn't think about the hoses. He said they needed replaced and pretty sure he said Gates. It's been over a year, sorry.

No problem, more than likely he used cut to length, off the shelf hoses. I guess I am pretty picky, but I am trying my best to do it once and do it right.
