Default 3.0 Engine swap

Good evening guys,

Over the winter, bought a 1998 ranger with the 3.0, 4x4, a 5 speed. It has 190,xxx miles on it, and shortly after buying it, started blowing coolant out of the overflow and overheating. it also now has a nasty knock upon startup. I decided to just replace the engine with a new (used) one. I just bought a 2000 parts truck with a bad tranny and a bad frame repair for pennies. it also has a 3.0, but this one is a flex fuel. what do i need to do to make the flex work in my truck that is set up for the conventional motor?

IE other than pulling both motors, and swapping them, what parts do i need to swap from the old motor to the flex?

How about the wiring harness? the ECM? I have done a couple of swaps before, but on older engines with less electronics.

Any help would be appreciated

PCM and harness because it has some different sensors and requires the PCM because it has bigger injectors that the non flex motor. Other than that if you want the flex capability then you also need the flex sensor (will need this to keep it from setting a CEL either way) and fuel lines. And check to see if it has pats if it does you'll need the lock cylinder with the PATS sensor.

what if you go from flex to non flex? my truck is a flex model and I just got it back together, yeah not going so well... do I have to bypass the flex pump under the truck?
