Well , after 245,897 miles , she is finally getting rebuilt , had this truck for 12 years

So close to the 250,000 mark... did it fail, or is this just a preventive thing?

297K miles on a 2000 Ranger. Just did head work and timing chain at 275K. Compression is good. I gave my 1991 2.3 Ranger away at 396K, valve cover never removed yes it was running. LOL I'm thinking about pulling the engine and doing a rebuild and some attutide. Then I think about buying a 4.0 and.... I'll already have what I'm looking for. LOL

Damn! You guys are sorta bummin' me out. I'm @129,000 and doing the heads. Was losing coolant. Guess it was the right move to fix it if I can get another 100k out of her. It's a2000 xlt.

im at 200k but shes still running strong. I have a very small oil leak that I might have to pull the engine out to fix, but hopefully not. If I do have to pull it out I will be doing a lot more work to help prevent other leaks and what not.
is the original tansmission still in it?

I love the reliability of the 3.0, mine has only 76,000 miles but everything on it is original and has never given me a single problem. Look forward to many more miles...
