TRS has a good write up about this. I think these earlier models had issues with the spout connector/wiring and or the TFI. Go read about it. I bet you find it. You really want a reader to get the exact codes. You are just throwing parts as a DX method.

OP of this thread:

1)Spend $30 on the code reader and post the code. my guess is you did the paper clip method and did it wrong.

2) the ground strap from the wiper motor looks odd?

The red cap is windshield washer. I must be watching a different movie. I don't see the ground strap moving and if he was grounding out a sparkplug plug wire he would know it
What are you talking about? I'm not "punking" on the OP, just adding levity.

Besides, who died and made you grand master Ford god? The grounding strap I'm referring to is the steel braided "wire" (looks like a strap more than a wire, IMO) that is directly behind the windshield washer hose in that video. I never said he was "grounding out a sparkplug wire" either.

IMO, the strap was contacting the body piece, or himself. It wouldn't be the strap that would be contacting the sparkplug wire if it is behind the windshield washer hose, now would it? The hose would be contacting it first, thus not allowing the strap to make contact.

Reading comprehension... Not your strong suit.

Punking^^^^^

Take care of your own debacle first....this OP is already a parts thrower. He does not need help from another parts thrower.

My module is on the radiator support. And it doesn't have the 3 prongs on the side of it to test like older model fords did.

Did you go read about it. You are dealing with antique technology. I have to admit i am not to familiar with it.

Tapping on this plug (at the top of the picture) seemed to temporarily fix it. When it ran rough & stalled out & wouldn't start, tapping on it again made it start right up & run fine again temporarily.

That's the PIP plug. All the wires on the harness side are seated firmly in the plug & have continuity all the way up to the Ecu. The ground wire also has a good ground.

It is the factory 190k plus distributor & Pip sensor. So I just ordered a new distributor on rockauto. I think when I replaced the distributor gear last month the PIP might have been damaged in the process. Because the problem started a week or so later.

Coolant temp. sensor on the block. Front right side. I had the same issue as far as the not starting at temp. Would idle high then not start again if up to temp. Replaced, idles fine and starts at temp. Cheap part, I think it was 8 dollars at auto zone.
