Default What is the best Rpm range to get the best mileage.

Hey guys, I was wondering what rpm range will you get the best gas mileage. The truck is a 1999 Ext. Cab Ranger with a 3.0, 5 Speed and 4x4. Thanks.

Ok, I'm easy on it, but didn't know exactly where it would do best. Thanks Josh.

I drive in the highest gear that I can for the speed I need. So I am in 4th through town at about 27 miles per hour rather than in 3rd or 2nd where I would be running at higher rpm. When the engine clearly needs to be in the lower gear, that's when I use it. I drive conservatively and don't run excessive rpms. Cruising at highway it is just above 2500. I get 23 mpg.
I love the 5 speed stick shift for this reason.
