Default 3.0 Question

Well guys I'm new on this. I have a 2000 Burgandy 2x4 5-Speed extended cab flair side Ranger. I love it! Only problem now is bad. It burnt a valve or 2. We thing 2. But anyways will a 4.0 drop straight into a 3.0 and the tranny and everything bolt up or what would i have to change? Thanks alot guys. Idk if i wanna rebuild it or just buy a 4.0 crate if it will fit or just get me a 4.0. Thanks.

Alright. Come to find out a valve broke off don't know why just normal wear I reckon and put me a nice hole in my cylinder. May end up buyin a crate 3.0 then. Think that'll be my best bet? and thanks for the reply man.

just rebuild the motor, you should save money that way, and be set for 300k miles.
