Burnt valve, need a temporary workaround
My truck has been idling rough for the last few months. Every time I stop at a red light or stuck in traffic the CEL would flash and after I give gas it takes about 20-30 seconds for the misfire to go away. But once it's running it runs like a new truck. Pulled misfire code for cyl 2, and today I did a compression test. I got 150 PSI for all cylinders but cylinder #2, it has 60 PSI both wet and dry. So I'm pretty certain that the exhaust valve on cyl 2 is leaking.
I don't plan to throw any money for a head/valve job now and just want to get the most out of the truck and scrap it when it dies. Is there anything temporary that I could do? I already increased the spark plug gap to 0.050 and it seems to help a bit. Thanks.
