Default Transmission Problem

Ok this is my first post for this site but I am having problems with my tranny. When I drive first off when I drive normal it stays at about 3.5 rpms and won't switch until 5-5.5 rpms. I just replaced transmission fluid and filter but no change. I had the codes ran but nothing came up. I don't know what to do. I really could use y'all's help. Also the speedometer works about half the time. I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not. But any help would be great. Thanks so much

The speedometer works half the time? Change the ABS sensor on the rear differential. It also controls the transmission shifting, speedo, and the rear ABS, and it is a commonly replaced part. It makes the transmission shift funny when it goes bad. $12 part, 5 minutes to replace.

Other than that, you may (worst case scenario and not likely), may have a blown separator plate gasket in the transmission valve body. It's easy to replace and can cause low pressure, in which the transmission will delay shifts.
