What year? Just add your truck info to your signature.

You're going to need a different transmission.

I don't understand why u want to put in a 5.0 if u have already had your 3.0 motor and transmission rebuilt?
Most people wait for their motor to crap out to drop money into a 5.0 swap, not do it after dropping money into rebuilding their 3.0.

Best bet would be to find an Explorer close to the same year as your ranger. In most cases u will need the following: engine, transmission, rear end axle, radiator, computer, wire harness, and such.

You have -

Vic, Marquis, etc engines that are low performance OBD-I and have a long front end dress.

Mustang HO OBD-I and have a long front end dress.

1993 HO from a T-Bird has a better cam profile for performance and short front end dress. OBD-I <--- a friend of mine has one of these in a Fairmont and it's a lot of fun

1994/1995 Mustang good performance short front end dress. OBD-I

1996 Explorer OBD-II Good performance, GT40 heads, short front end dress

1997.5+ Explorer OBD-II Good performance, GT40P Heads, short front end dress

Ideally you want an OBD-I engine management system with a short front end dress. Using the longer front end dress is possible, but cooling is sure tough. Plenty of room width wise, but length wise is pretty limited.
