Brake side means toward the engine and wheel side means toward the outside.

if you want your wheels to stick out ask him what the back spacing is. less backspacing means the wheels will stick out farther.

negative offset will also stick out. offset is the distance between the centerline of the wheel and the part of the wheel hub that it is bolted to.
