You'll need a new cruise pod. The correct way to take those apart is to undo the battery, unbolt the airbag, then take the two phillips screws off the wheel and the pod is off. Then disassemble it.

OR...instead of just replacing the cruise pod, if you know how to solder wires, you can convert to LED's.
