Default Improving ride

Any help on improving the hard ride for my 1998 2WD 3.0 XLT Supercab ?
When i bought it i got rid of the 14" wheels and went to 15x7 with 235/70r15 (current FS Destination LE) ,later went with KYB GR2 shocks which helped the after shock from bumps, but still very firm on rough road or hitting bumps. In past i had a 1994 2WD 4.0 Splash supercab and i removed the rear helper leaf spring which made a major change. It also made it sit level ,as it sat up before this.I've thought about doing this to the 98 ,but it already sits level so have not. Any ideas or is it is what it is ? Thanks !!
