Default M5od-r1 extension housing to M5od-r2?

Anyone know if the extension housing from the M5od-R1 will bolt to a M5od-R2 transmission?
I really don't want to pull the two apart to find out.

Also, anyone ever looked into building an adapter for a 1354e to make it manual?
These electric shift suckers are plentiful, to say the least. What I am proposing is removing the electric motor and adapting a cable or some other devise in its place so you don't have to wait for the motor to do the job for you. For those of you who have one that works on demand, you are lucky. The one on my Ranger will most of the time take 5 minutes of more of screwing around to get it into low range and at least that long to get it out of low. On a good day, switch the knob, goes into high no problem, switch the knob to low range, (while stopped) put it in reverse, take up the slack, shut the engine off, start the engine, put it in first gear, put it in neutral, let it sit, what ever you want to do, it doesn't go till it wants to, and has never gone in when it was first switched or without screwing around. This is frustrating to say the least, I have tried everything the dealer and others have suggested, even changed out the motor for one that worked great on an Explorer. Still the same problem. Now it is going to get a manual of some sort, whether from an earlier RBV or convert the electric to a manual with some type of adapter.
