It was my understanding that the 4.0L SOHC came out in late 2000 (right after I purchased my old 2000 4.0 OHV).

I"m seeing wildly different prices from 2001 to 2006 SOHC motors. Can a 2001 4.0L SOHC be rebuilt to the 2001 standard?
