Default Re: Fender Flare and Grill paint?

Fusion works great on the flares and grille. I have used it myself with excellent results. My flares looked exactly like the OP. Removing the flares was no big deal, gave me a chance to do some rust proofing under the flares and fix some peeling paint under the flares that would have started rusting. Needed to buy new push pins for the flares from the dealer but so what.

Not sure why some have an aversion to using rattle cans on these old trucks. It does a great job and is cheap.

Earlier poster was correct. Do NOT sand the flares. Just clean them with denatured alcohol and paint. The new paint adheres to the old faded plastic very well. I did not use clear coat but I will next time.

My results.
