It melted the insulation off of half the radio wires partly an two of them back to where I couldn't see them. I'm swapping in another duratec the old one had a bad wrist pin and while saving up to fix it I found a truck(no tranny, bad body) with 60000 less miles than mine for a very good price so I might just say screw it and swap the dash harness. Also the short was there before the radio burnt out I know that there would be bigger issues caused by that so I took out the fuse to the radio hoping it didn't burn other wires inside that would cause extra shorts. The question was about the previous short not the current issue sorry for the confusion and thank you guys for your replies.
