The 2003 FX4 Off-Roads and all other non-Level II Rangers that had LSD - received the standard 28-spline Traction-Lok LSD (friction plate).

IIRC Torsen LSD's only came in the following Rangers (all were 31-spline):
2002 FX4 Off-Road's (No lvl II offered that year)
2003-2009 FX4 Level II's
