I think the legality of passengers in the bed of a truck is determined the state. I see many a people in truck beds around here in Kentucky (go figure). And have yet to see / hear of someone getting a ticket cuz of it. I'd look into your local laws to see if it's legal. If it's a big no no and you happened to go on the road id feel like I wasted my time/ money doing this project if I'm just gonna get tickets.
