I know the feeling. The Merrit Parkway and Wilbur Cross Parkway in CT are like that too. The on-ramps are like 20ft long and have STOP SIGNS!? It is a disaster of engineering. The flow of traffic is about 80, there is no shoulder, no merge lane, and trees lining both sides. To get on the highway, you pull up to the stop sign, crank your neck around 180 degrees and watch for the next small gap in traffic. Then just as the last car is about to pass, you have to floor it and go from 0 to 80 in about 5 seconds or you get creamed.

There is usually quite a death count by the end of each year. Ether people crashing into eachother, hopping the median, or trees falling into the highway. Its really stupid.
