Re: Stock Radio Swap
I'd love to have a stock radio for my '98 XLT...the aftermarket installed by the po has tens of tiny buttons and equalizers and colored lights. All I need is an AM radio with 5 station presets and a volume knob - they haven't even made a basic AM-FM car radio in 40 years. Plus my truck bounces so much I can't operate the radio while it's moving. Your son is lucky to have a caring pop and you won't have any problem installing the latest...only vehicles with proprietary speaker systems are a pain requiring new wire runs into the doors etc as are many Euro cars...not the Ranger tho.
