Hi, I'm a 17-year-old girl from Virginia. I have a lifted/fairly modded Jeep Wrangler right now, and I'm looking at buying a '95 Ranger I found. It was in a front-end accident a few days ago, but (according to the seller) everything is in good working order, it runs and drives, and there is no frame damage. From the photos I saw it looks like it hit a pole/tree at a pretty low speed. It supposedly only needs a new bumper and grille. I figure that since I'm capable of doing work on my Jeep (I installed a lift on it myself) and have some friends with more knowledge than I do, it shouldn't be hard to grab the parts from a junkyard and get the truck fixed up pretty quickly and cheaply.
So I'm hoping I could get a little advice from the gurus here about what to look out for. Aside from obvious radiator and frame damage, is there anything I should specifically be concerned about when I go take a look at this truck? Are there any things that are common issues on this model/year or that would be likely to have been damaged in the accident?
Also, assuming there are no hidden damages, I think I'm getting a good deal. It's $650 firm for a 1995 Ranger XLT 4 cylinder 5 speed manual 2wd with 120K miles. I'll probably eventually wind up reselling it, so what price should I expect it to go for once it's fixed up? Of course, I've always wanted a Ranger, so I might have a hard time giving it up down the road.
And since I don't have any pics of the Ranger to show yet, he's a pic of my Jeep!
