I understand what you guys are saying regarding "playing at a party" ... but, in all fairness, there's a great number of artists (some of them already mentioned in this thread) that you likely wouldn't hear at most parties these days; that doesn't diminish the band's
greatness to any degree, nor their contribution to the art.
Did they play any Led Zeppelin at the last party you were at? How about Yes? Jefferson Airplane? Amboy Dukes? Rush? CSNY? Grateful Dead? Electric Light Orchestra? Scorpions? AC/DC?
etc, etc, etc
