theres a thread in the HOW-TO over on RF on how to remove the needles but its a lil late for that now...lol the only thing i can suggest is pull it back out and remove the clear lense and re-install it and drive it and manually but the needles back where they were before....as far as the speedo you'll have to get a freind to drive next to down the interstate or somewhere open where you can talk on the phone and get side by side at a set speed and just put the speedo needle back on while driving it.
