After searching 30 pages of posts, found about half a dozen people withe this same problem with no satisfactory answer. I am a 20 year mechanic with a good all around knowledge of how these things run, however my specialty is busses. I have replaced both coil packs, all 8 plugs, new motorcraft wires, and the fuel filter. New erg valve and checked for vacuum leaks. My tsp is 18% at idle. It is crazy that there is no good repair posted about this problem. I work with 10 former dealership and private garage mechanics and we will get to the bottom of this, even if it kills me!! Thank goodness my ranger is a third vehicle. I can leave it home and tinker. I feel for you guys who rely on your truck to get to work.

Firing order is ok. Truck runs good at freeway speeds. It's an idle problem. Worse when it's cold.
