Default How To: F-250 Horn Install for Single Horned Ranger

How To: F-250 Horn Install for Single Note Horn Ranger

This is pretty easy. It took me a little longer than I thought to figure out the best setup. This installation looks really clean and figured it might help somebody else out.

Precautions
Be careful not to scratch your grille or damage the plug when unplugging your horn.

You will need the following:
  • Ford OEM P/N: BC3Z-13832-A
  • Small bolt - This is what I had on hand.
-10mm 1.5" bolt and nut, 10mm washer, 10mm clamp washer
  • 8mm socket, 10 mm socket

Let's begin!

1. Unplug the single note horn, unbolt only the horn and place it to the side. Leave the bracket in place. Part removed is shown below.

2. The new dual note horns are incorrectly oriented for the Ford Ranger. You will need to remove the horns and flatten the bracket. When re-installing the horns you will need to rotate them 90 degrees. They will need to look exactly like the pictures shown below. If the horns are not pointing down, they will get water in them and sound like a duck quacking.

3. Finally you will need to plug in the new dual note horn and install as shown in the picture below.

4. Installing the new horns like this keeps them out of the radiators way. Enjoy your new dual note horn!
