Default Re: 2000 Ford Ranger Belt Squeaking Issue?

I had a bad squeal coming from my 99 3.0 ranger. Changed it with a delco 883 belt and it fixed it for about a day. Then after driving it for about a day it came back slowly. Started out like a chirp then turned into a squeal. Went away at low RPMs and increased as did RPMs. Changed out the idler pulley and the tensioner pulleys. Didn't fix it. Thought it may have been the alternator or ac compressor. Turns out autozone sells two different sizes of belts for this type of engine. I got the more expensive belt the first time and it turned out to be too long causing the belt to still slip. Get the 882 size belt. Solved the problem!!
