Default 5.0 starter wiring

I have just swapped in a 5.0 in my 84 ranger (2.3l Carb.) and have gotten to the point where I can't get the starter to turn the engine over. I have the ignition module, coil and distributor wires figured out but this starter wiring is driving me crazy. It is a one wire starter off of a 87 grand marquis and has a four prong solenoid on the fire wall with both "S" and "I" prongs. I have ran the red/blue (trigger) wire to the prong marked "S" with the battery and starter wire running to the big prongs on both sides of the solenoid. Once I hit the key I just get a click and nothing else. If someone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanvce!
