Default Re: 8" vs 10" wheel with 12.5 tire

More accurately, one will stick out 2" more than the other. Generally, almost every wheel that has a 15x8 and 15x10 option, have the same backspace of 3.615-4". The extra 2" is on the outside of the wheel mount.

Generally, if you have fender flares, an 8" will be just inside those fender flares. A 10" will be just outside. A 10" will stick out from a non-flare truck about 3".

I don't suggest 10" wheels unless you're lifted by either a body lift or suspension lift. They're more problematic because the extra room they take in the fender. Sheet metal and what not. Not so much a problem on the street, but if you actually beat on the truck off road, tires goes weird ways. My all four of my fenders are pretty beat and I've got considerable tire clearance.

I've seen people warn about 10" wheels and airing down. I've had no issues airing down to 6-8psi with my 10" and 12.50's...and not exactly taking it easy.

You need to provide us with info on your truck. If you're a stock 98+ 4x4, no way would I suggest 15x10's and 33x12.50's.
