In NC, you don't have to renew your tags in a certain month. Just whatever month u get ur tags, u renew 1 year later. I'm not sure about personalized tags though. We have inspections but no inspection stickers ne more.they have tied them in together with tag renewel so they,re both done at same time. Now our registration tells us on it when to have our vehicles inspected. Its $28 for the tag renewal and $30 for the inspection. Nething older than 96'(OBDII) is only $10 for inspection.
