Treat the camshaft position sensor like a distributor. Before you take it out, mark the position of the housing. Then take the actual sensor off. This has the wire attached to it. Two bolts that are 5.5mm. Once the sensor is off make sure to mark the position of the "tang" inside the housing. Once these items are marked, then loosen the bolt at the base of the housing and slide the whole unit out. DO NOT DISTURB THE ENGINE!!!! Do not crank it or anything else. Like I said treat it like you are taking out a distributor. Install the OEM Motorcraft part, not the cheap one in the reverse order. O'Reilly carries the motorcraft brand. They are really quite simple. Just take your time and you will be good to go!
