did you go over grounds and see if you could get the computer to run through diagnostics? really not looking good, might call that shop and ask about warranty on that computer. if grounds are looking OK and computer is dead, you're either going to have to get a wiring diagram and go through all of the wires and try to find a fault there, or simply get a used computer and try that.

THE JURY IS BACK!! SHE LIVES AGAIN!!
After months of poking around it turns out it was the ignition coil. Fortunately the fix itself was fairly cheap. Next up, new muffler, and electrical madness.

Good Job finding the fix.
I have a coil behind my seat for those, just in case times... It a easy one to rule out.
