So which is missing, the spark or the fuel?

Re: Help! changed valve cover gaskets now wont start
there's a lot that goes over the valve covers. really could be a lot of things. need someone who is fimiliar or go over it again with a fine tooth comb. i would check that the computer has some sanity (to verify that it's still getting power), easy way to do that would be to see if you can get it to run the self tests. are you sure it's a no spark condition and not something simple like the firing order? did you adjust the ignition timing at all?

Battery since the door 'dinger' is faint? Push start that bitch. I've done it before in my Ranger, takes two people, one to push, one inside. Turn the key to the on position. Put it in 2nd gear, hold the clutch down, start rolling the truck, then very fast release & push in the clutch. Then it should start.

If your battery is weak you might try jumping it and see if it will run..

Yea this would work. But I'd advise anyone with a 5speed to learn how to push start them. Might be helpful down the road. One time I had to push start my truck (left the lights on) and never done it before. But luckily I did read about it online before. I got it on the second try. Normally the person isn't fast enough to push in/out the first time.

Re: Help! changed valve cover gaskets now wont start
I've push started my old car many a times.
And sprint cars
It's easy I could probably do my 98 xlt by myself
