Default V6 2.9L Acceleration

Hi, I have a 1990 V6 2.9L ranger and the acceleration is VERY slow. Is there any way to speed it up a bit without converting to a 4L? Maybe get a little more power out of it to? Thanks

Hard to say for sure, your problem can be anything from a problem in your braking system causing drag to something completely unrelated to the engine. Or could be nothing at all and just seems slow to you. I would start with checking for unnecessary drag - how does it coast? What tires are you running? There are a bunch of variables to consider here, need more information on your truck. Tune up will never hurt, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter, air filter, etc.
