Default New moar power

Hey kinda new here, been stalkin threads for a while though but i'm wanting to get more power from my 87 stx 4x4 without destroying my mpg. what kinda of accessories could I get to give me just that? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

5.0 swap...nothing else..tried everything, nothing works.

^^ there's some truth to that !! EFI 5.0L will get similar mileage as your 2.9L V6 if not beaten on all of the time. It's easier for the V8 to make the Ranger move than it is for the V6.

I was under the impression that a larger intake system would give it a lil more "oomph". I also don't know to much about it but is it possible to add turbo charger?

Get a tuner before anything.

Why do you want more horsepower the ranger has so much horsepappies but no room to gallop

Its more of a project for my father and I to do. Hit 18 an vehicles are finally interesting. Aint lookin for much but I just want my ranger to do just a lil more. Tired of this toyota ran town. Someone needs to show them a real truck

Been wondering the same thing myself. K&N did very little, pulled cat to see if it was plugged, nope! Glad I don't have to smog it. Headers? Idk. I think the 5.0 swap is really the best bang for your buck.

Take out as much weight as you possibly can, you'll gain performance and economy for free
