I have a 1990 Ranger. I'd like to get a key cut from the dealership, using the original key tag code. Is there a way to find the original code from the VIN or build sheet?

if they cant duplicate the key you have they dont need your buisness. if you have no keys your best bet would be pick up a ignition cylinder and just swap it out. the new one comes with a set of keys normaly. its only when you come across pats keys in the late 90's early 2000's were you have to program the pcm for new keys. most parts stores should have the cylinders in stock or order in a few days.. rreplaceing is easy too

i learned today is that you cant get key for your truck at ford dealship so you got to either get a locksmith or get new locking or key cylinder and trust me when i said when it is easier to buy one and install it then to pay someone to do it
