Default more power?

hey,

Just wondering of any fair cheap ways to add a bit more power to my truck, I just want to have more acceleration from a stop. I've seen the short ram intakes, how they say adds 15hp or so... Though I don't believe it.

But anyways just wondering.

thanks a lot.

Intakes are a joke. They add nothing. The advertising is simply lying. There is no such thing as cheap power. A tuner will help with your goal at a cost of a out $400+.

Well I'm not expecting anything under 300, 400 would be just fine if not a little more.

remove the flux capacitor. Removing it increases acceleration.. but the down side is you can kiss your time travel capabilities goodbye.

Agree, you have a 2WD, and you only need more acceleration from stop... just replace the final relation to the next step and you should be fine. And besides... have original tires or big ones? Smaller tires will also shorten the final relation, but a pair of differential gears should be much cheaper than a set of tires. And besides, small tires in ranger are a pain...

I got bigger tires, On 15R. and yeah, I may have to re gear. Not sure, I really don't have many tools to do that though.

Better pay for some shop do it for you. You\ll need some mechanical skills, micrometer, thickness gage, standard tools and a rear axle tensor to open the differential housing a bit to remove the gear. Not easily accomplished at home, unless you have the right hardware.
