Default 1987 2.9 won't stay running

I have a 1987 2.9 ranger that won't stay running. Here is what happened:
Had the truck a couple weeks and the boy pulled into the gas station to get gas and turned the key to the off position and the truck kept running. The ignition actuator broke. Jump started it and drove it home. Replaced the actuator and off and running for a couple days. Then it stalled and would not start. Leave it sit for a day and it would run for about 30 minutes and then stall. Replaced the control module and same thing. Here is what I have done to it.
New gas tank
new fuel pump and sending unit
new fuel filter
new fuel pressure regulator
new control module
I have spark, I have fuel. When it dies, it just shuts off like turning the key off. Then it will crank and crank and not start. Leave it sit for a couple days and it will start and run for about 5 minutes and then die. This thing is going to be the death of me. It's no longer a project, now its a mission............

This reply might be too late?, you say you have fuel, but you need around 43 psi at the fuel rail to get the injectors to operate. How about the frame mounted fuel pump? You put in a new tank and a new pump in the tank, but it is the low pressure version of the two. You need the hi pressure frame mounted pump to be working also.

There is also two fuel filters in case you haven't picked up on that in other threads.

If you solved this?, others might like to know how it went.

This reply is probably really old, but sounds like a pickup coil needs replacement above the distributor. As car runs the coil heats up and fails. I had this exact issue, new coil fixed my truck
