I am not sure about that model year. The later starters have 2 wires, the older ones only have one. My 1988 had 1 wire, my 1987 5.0 as 1 wire, my 93 mustang had 2, my 93 Tempos have 2, etc. Need to see if there is a terminal connection on the starter (either flat, or a threaded stud), and look for an additional smaller wire that runs parallel with your main power wire to the starter. If you had the battery disconnected, be sure to check connunity of the ground wire to ground and positive to the + terminal on the battery. I've found that the terminals can be problematic with these trucks.
